Hojas (pronounced HO-yas), I'm Matěj Foukal - data engineer, developer, and a terrible badminton player based in the Czech Republic.

I started this site as a place to share what I learn and think about. I'm naturally a chaotic thinker and a bit of a megalomaniac, so putting ideas on paper and attempting to share them is the best way for me to actually understand them. The idea to start this blog came almost accidentally, as a joke from my great friend Anička, but it ended up being exactly what I needed. Whether it's sharing my thoughts on data warehousing approaches, reviewing a cool book or article I've just read, or reflecting on technical growth, this space is my digital playground.

When I'm not tinkering with software, you'll usually find me listening to Ghost, playing badminton (and losing), or trying to convince my friends to join me on yet another hackathon adventure.
